This is going to be the first of a new series of blog posts describing products. We’re focusing on three things What, why and How.
This Week’s post is about Static Cling.

What:
- Static cling vinyl is a low tack non-adhesive plastic film used for window decals.
- It sticks to glossy surfaces like glass without any adhesive and can be easily removed without leaving any residue.
- Instead of using static electricity, static cling vinyl is a highly plasticized thin film that works like many tiny suction cups. Just like suction cups it works best on glass surfaces.
Why:
- Static cling is easy to install, reposition, and does not require a professional installer.
- When removed, static cling does not leave any residue.
- Since static cling film does not have adhesive on its back, static cling is often used when the decal is to be easily removed after it has served its purpose.
- Static cling is best used for temporary, seasonal or holiday decorations. For example, when promoting for a new offer at a restaurant or a retail business it is better to use static cling decals to cover windows, glass doors or displays since it can be easily installed and removed.
- Static Cling can be reused if removed properly.
How:
- When installing Static Cling decals always clean the surface thoroughly.
- Make sure that no debris builds up when removing if you are planning on reinstalling.
- It’s better to place the static cling decals indoors on the inside of the windows.
- The shelf life for static cling decals is short and the vinyl is guaranteed for 6 months.
